Are you looking to get involved in some festive activities this season? There’s something for everyone to enjoy in Downtown Auburn as we gear up for the holidays! Check out our list so you can get involved in some festive fun!


Hey Day Holiday Grand Opening: Nov 17th

Hey Day market is starting off the holiday season with the Hey Day Holiday grand opening on November 17th from 12-8:30pm. Activities will include all-day ice skating on the greenspace, a special snowfall at 5pm, and a pawn game by the AU Hockey Club at 5:30pm! There will even be a 24 ft Christmas tree! Hey Day Holiday will be open from November 17th - January 13th so make sure you don’t miss out on the fun!


Blue Friday: Nov 24th

Join us after Thanksgiving on Downtown Auburn’s Blue Friday! Enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts at 7:30am and begin your shopping when retailers open at 8am. The local merchants will have sales, doorbusters, giveaways and more! From 10 - 11am, bring a receipt to our table to show your proof of purchase from local businesses to win downtown  giveaways. The first 100 people will get a free reusable Downtown Auburn tote bag! Stick around until 2pm for the Compete to Defeat Challenge where some very special guests will compete to raise money for ALS!


Lighting of the Hey Day Market Christmas Tree: Nov 24th

Head on over to the greenspace at Hey Day market to watch the lighting of the 24 ft Christmas Tree! 

Holiday Lighting Ceremony: Nov 26th

Head over to Samford Lawn on November 26th from 4 - 6pm for Auburn University’s annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony! Make sure to grab some cookies, hot chocolate, and latke and get ready to watch the on-stage performance at 5pm! Grab your family and friends to watch the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah!

Auburn Holiday Crawl ‘23: Nov 30th

Santa Crawl is back! The Santa Crawl World Tour will take place on November 30th from 5pm-9pm. Sign up on lineleap, get your t-shirt, and join in as participants visit each of our downtown bars! Part of the proceeds will be donated to the SafeBar Network. 

Downtown Auburn Holiday Fair and Open House: Dec 1st 

Look for the perfect gift? Shop local at the Downtown Auburn Holiday Fair and Open House where merchants will have extended shopping hours from 5-8pm. Take advantage of the discounts and special offers to mark off your holiday shopping list! Grab a cocktail to go, listen to live music, take your picture with Santa, and more at this family friendly event!

Jingle Jog 5k and Santa Stroll Fun Run: Dec 2nd

Do you love to run and celebrate the holidays? Then this event is for you! The 1 mile Santa Stroll Fun Run starts at Toomer’s Corner at 6:30am followed by the Jingle Jog 5k at 7am!

The Loveliest Village Holiday Market: Dec 2nd

Stop by The Loveliest Village Holiday Market located in the Gay Street parking lot on December 2nd from 9am-3pm to enjoy baked goods, homemade gifts that are perfect for Christmas, creations by local artists, shopping, arts and crafts, and more! 

Annual Christmas Market: Dec 2nd

Join the United Women of Faith at the Auburn United Methodist Church for their annual Christmas Market from 8:30 am - 12 pm as they raise money for local missions! Enjoy free admission, baked goods, arts and crafts, and more all while supporting a good cause!

Santa on the Corner: Dec 2nd & 3rd

Make sure to get your picture taken with Santa outside of Toomer’s on December 2nd from 10 am - 2 pm or Sunday December 3rd from 11 - 11:30pm! Perfect for Christmas Card pictures!

Holiday Cookie Baking Class: Dec 2nd

Do you love baking and sweet treats? Team up with your family and friends at the Rane Culinary Science Center to take a family friendly baking class! Learn how to make some delicious cookies, and don’t forget to do a taste test at the end to enjoy your creation!

Downtown Auburn Christmas Parade: Dec 3rd

Who doesn’t love a Christmas parade? Make sure you get the perfect spot along the route for our annual Auburn Christmas Parade! The parade starts at 2 and so take a seat and enjoy the show!

Auburn Gingerbread Village: Dec 3rd

One of Auburn’s most anticipated holiday events is seeing the Auburn Gingerbread Village housed in the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center. East Alabama’s largest gingerbread village will be put on display at 3pm as the Christmas Parade comes to an end and will remain open until New Years Day.

Hey Day Market Santa Clause Visit: Dec 9th, 16th, & 23rd

It’s that time of year! Come by the Hey Day Market from 5:30 - 6:30pm on December 9th, 16th, or the 23rd to get your picture taken with Santa Clause!

New Years Eve Balloon Drop: Dec 31st

Do you want a fun New Years Eve experience? Come by Hey Day Market from 5 - 8pm for a New Years Eve balloon drop featuring themed mocktails, party favors, and a photo booth!
