Blue Friday Blitz


Join Active Auburn to burn off your Thanksgiving Day calories at the Blue Friday Blitz!

Active Auburn is excited to host the Blue Friday Blitz, a 1.5-mile run/walk through the downtown area on Friday, November 24. 

Join us beginning at 8 a.m. as we prepare to blitz from Toomer's Corner, down Gay Street to Samford Avenue and then back to Toomer's Corner via N College Street. This is NOT a race. Participants will not be timed, but are able to run/walk as many times as they would like between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Runners and walkers must stay on the sidewalk for the duration of the route.

Downtown shops and restaurants will be open to the public by the time the first round of blitzers return to Toomer's Corner, so stay awhile for breakfast and Blue Friday shopping! There will also be local vendors onsite for small activities, so check them out after your run/walk. Not to mention...Active Auburn is giving away a $100 gift card to Kinnucan's!

Jingle Jog 5k and Santa Fun Run


Join Active Auburn as we wrap up 2017 with the Jingle Jog 5k and Santa Stroll Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, December 9 beginning at 4 p.m.! Race routes will lead participants on a tour through downtown Auburn and parts of the Auburn University campus, all beginning and ending at Toomer's Corner!

The Santa Stroll Fun Run/Walk will begin at 4 p.m. and the Jingle Jog 5k will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Online registration for this event will begin Monday, September 18 and end ond Thursday, November 30. Day-of registration will begin at 3:15 p.m. Registration information and pricing can be found online at activeauburn.orgor visit the race website by clicking on "Ticket Information" in the Facebook event group. 

Proceeds for this event will benefit the addition of an inclusive playground at Town Creek Park. Attendees are also encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy, to be donated to Auburn Public Safety Toy Drive. 

Make sure to stick around after the race is over for our Best Dressed Runner and Ugly Christmas Sweater contest awards, along with the presentation of awards and recognition of winners of the Mayor's 100-Mile Challenge! 

The City of Auburn will also host the Downtown Holiday Celebration as the post-race party in downtown Auburn from 5 - 8 p.m., complete with live music, holiday-themed activities and a special holiday surprise! The Downtown Holiday Celebration will be free and open to the public.

Join the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and Auburn Downtown Merchants Association for the annual Auburn Christmas Parade through downtown. The parade will feature local favorites, festive floats, and an appearance by Santa.

Santa on the Corner


Santa in coming to town. Join the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association and the Lee County United Way for Santa on the Corner. Santa will be at Toomers Corner on Satureday, the 16th from 12-4 pm and Sunday, the 17th from 11 am -3 pm. Photos with Santa are free with a requested donation to The United Way.
