Chamber of Commerce

The Auburn Chamber is a very helpful organization fighting for to keep Auburn a pro-business city.  They help with networking, advertising, and even a small business advisory service. 

Council Members

This link shows a map of all of the City Council districts that cover our downtown area and our DM&POA members.  At the bottom of the map, you will find the contact information for each of the members shown on the map.

Zoning Ordinance

The sections of the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to downtown development and redevelopment have changed several time over the past few years, this link takes you to the latest ordinance. 

Planning Department

This link to the Planning department's website will help you find out about things like permitted uses, parking requirements, and height limits.

City of Auburn GIS Maps

This link takes you right to maps from Auburn's GIS Department.  You can find lots of parcel level data, such as ownership records, zoning, school district, dimensions, and even traffic counts on the roads around your prospective locations.  Very helpful.

City Code

This link takes you the the document that is the legal basis for things here in town.  It covers lots of things, including the regulations for selling alcoholic beverages.

Building Codes Dept.

This link to the Building Codes department will help you figure out things like occupancy limits, handicap access requirements, and the current electrical & plumbing codes in use in Auburn.

Finance Department

This link to the office that handles business licenses and tax info will help you get off on the right track. 

Economic Development

The City's Economic Development department is known for it's success with light industrial and big box retail, neither of which are in downtown.  However, the City's staff is very good and very creative.  They have several tools they can use to help attract and retain downtown businesses.

Comprehensive Plan

This link takes you to the current plan.  Updated in 2000, there is a lot of good demographic data about Auburn in this document.  Right now, the City is in the process of writing the one, CompPlan 2030.  We'll update the link when it's ready.
